9th German Night of Apnea 2006
November 20, 2006 in Competition by Jorg Jansen
Last weekend there was again a competition in Berlin, Germany. This competition is always a great one with athletes from all over. The thing that makes this competition so special is the 16×50 meters discipline. And this year Mikael Asp set a new world record with a time of 11:15 minutes! Amazing time. Maybe it’s time to make this an official discpline.
Winner with the woman was Eva Tommerup Johnson (DK) with 180,9 points, a static of 5:35 minutes, dynamic of 152 meters and a time of 26,22 minutes on the 16×50. Winner with the men was Henning Larsen (DK) with 236,2 points, a static of 6:51 min, dynamic of 186 mtr and a time of 16,23 min for the 16×50. Full results here.

I received the press release below about the US National Freediving Championships that will take place in Hawaii from April 22-25. Looks like it’s going to be an interesting competition, so if you’re in the neighborhood, go for it! US National Freediving Championship set for April 22 through 25, 2010 at Freedive Paradise event.
AIDA International has a new website and a new web address. It is not yet made public on the old website. Probably because it’s still work in progress. But it is already looking to good for not mentioning it here.
