Freediver Loic Leferme Funeral
April 17, 2007 in Champion Freediver, Video by Jorg Jansen
Today Loic Leferme got cremated in a private ceremony with his family and closest friends. After his accident last Wednesday there was a slight worry that it would take some time before the funeral could take place, but the coastguard gave permission to release the body to the family without an autopsy or an official investigation. Tomorrow there will be a public ceremony for Loic in the Citadel of Villefranche-sur-Mer at 15:00 hours.
On one of my other websites I keep track of all kind of extreme sports video clips. Last year I put on a very special one. It was the video clip Loic had made about his record 171 meter dive. He told me how he tried to get his emotions of each stage of the attempt in the video clip by using specific pieces of music. It’s one of the best freediving clips I have ever seen, especially how Loic succeeded by transferring his emotions onto the screen. I thought I would share this video again, but this time on this website. Enjoy…

I received the press release below about the US National Freediving Championships that will take place in Hawaii from April 22-25. Looks like it’s going to be an interesting competition, so if you’re in the neighborhood, go for it! US National Freediving Championship set for April 22 through 25, 2010 at Freedive Paradise event.
AIDA International has a new website and a new web address. It is not yet made public on the old website. Probably because it’s still work in progress. But it is already looking to good for not mentioning it here.
