Great competition in Sharm, but the heat seemed to be the problem... I had done a pretty deep one in Dahab a couple of days before, and felt convinced that I had the 91m in me. -I know...Excuses :-) BUT never the less..
To add a small correction to the text about the comp, I was NOT prohibited to start on the second day... I had my flight home, so that is why I didn't start. IF I had had a later departure, I guess that I would not have started anyway, but I was not prohibited to start...

-Timo below 100??? Interesting! I'm more than sure that he is able to do so, but where has he done it??? And where did you get these info???

4 locals, 6 succesful dives and 4 NRs.
5 foreigners... 1 successful dive (my 75m CNF)
Sharm has beautiful clear, deep waters close to shore, but the conditions may not be ideal for max attempts: 43ºC air and 31ºC water are too hot for freediving, and dives that anywhere else are fairly straightforward become difficult here. Low BP due to the hot climate is the main culprit, and the diet at the resort restaurant doesn't help. Several people nearly had packing blackouts at half max packs...
The organisation is impeccable, and I think it will be an incredible world championships, as long as everyone assesses carefully the effect of the conditions on the performance. Hopefully the water should have cooled down to something more manageable (28ºC), and the organiser was talking about working with the resort to create a menu more appropriate for athletes.
Rumours also of Umberto Pelizzari attending the last few days and closing ceremony...

So Timo is already below the 100m mark? Wow, that is massive, the elite club of "below 100" is getting crawded!
