Free-dive Instructor Pushes Students Beyond Limits

Nice headline he? Well, probably diveFit didn’t think about it as positive. The Miami Herald did an article about the freediving courses from Martin Stepanek with the above headline on the article. Read the article yourself. Well Deeperblue reports that it isn’t that bad as it reads;
A direct report from Mr. Mascara reveals that in effect he was not pushed into a blackout, rather it was of his own doing. Mr. Mascara told Deeperblue that “The reason for the BO is that I was really pushing my personal limits so I could achieve the 5:00 static breath hold which is one of the minimum requirements for becoming a freediving instructor.”
Well some marketing guy said it’s better to have negative publicity then no publicity at all. I wonder if Martin agrees.

I received the press release below about the US National Freediving Championships that will take place in Hawaii from April 22-25. Looks like it’s going to be an interesting competition, so if you’re in the neighborhood, go for it! US National Freediving Championship set for April 22 through 25, 2010 at Freedive Paradise event.
AIDA International has a new website and a new web address. It is not yet made public on the old website. Probably because it’s still work in progress. But it is already looking to good for not mentioning it here.
