Freediving On Squidoo
January 18, 2008 in Uncategorized by Jorg Jansen
Last year I found the website Squidoo, which provided some answers to some questions about a topic I was interested in. In that time I found the idea that the website had pretty good, it gives people a possibility to setup a place about a topic that they know very well. As there was nothing about freediving over there I even started thinking of setting up a page about freediving. But then again, most readers already found me on this website, so I let it be…
It seems that someone else has now setup a freediving page on Squidoo, which you can reach here. The main reason for the page is that the owner of the page is not happy about all the current stuff that is being written in such poor English, as he says:
“I have become frustrated with the poor English found in many of the Freediving articles and submissions on the web.
In an effort to correct this, I propose finding submissions that are interesting and relevant to FREEDIVING. Where necessary, editing them and posting them on this freediving site. I might find something worthwhile, that is well written, in which case, I aim to provide a link to that article. You may find some of my own ideas from time to time, for what they are worth.”
So he decided to rewrite some articles and publish them over there. Is it ethical to do such a thing? Well, he provides links to the original as well. But then again, he’s also showing ads on this website and therefor generating income by using work from other people. Fair or not so fair? Let me know what you think, or let him know directly by leaving a comment on his website.

I received the press release below about the US National Freediving Championships that will take place in Hawaii from April 22-25. Looks like it’s going to be an interesting competition, so if you’re in the neighborhood, go for it! US National Freediving Championship set for April 22 through 25, 2010 at Freedive Paradise event.
AIDA International has a new website and a new web address. It is not yet made public on the old website. Probably because it’s still work in progress. But it is already looking to good for not mentioning it here.
