New O2 Static World Record by Nicola Putignano
May 15, 2009 in Event, News by Jorg Jansen
Italian Apnea Academy instructor Nicola Putignano has set a new World Guinness Record with a static on oxygen of over 19 minutes. If anybody has more details please let me know.The old record was in hands of Gianluca Genoni with a 18 minutes and 3 seconds static.
The attempt would be broad-casted on Italian television on last Wednesday and Umberto Pelizzari would be the commentator during the attempt. However the item was skipped and will probably be aired next week. The show is called “Lo Show dei Record” and is broad-casted on Italian Canale 5.
Of course there is also the 21:29 minute static by illusionist David Merline done during the Bahrein Formula 1 weekend. However some controversy around the guy makes me think he’s doing a trick. More on this later.

I received the press release below about the US National Freediving Championships that will take place in Hawaii from April 22-25. Looks like it’s going to be an interesting competition, so if you’re in the neighborhood, go for it! US National Freediving Championship set for April 22 through 25, 2010 at Freedive Paradise event.
AIDA International has a new website and a new web address. It is not yet made public on the old website. Probably because it’s still work in progress. But it is already looking to good for not mentioning it here.

One aclaration, the family name of the guy is Putignano, no “putigano”. I think soon we will have the video at internet.
@Antonio
