Results 12th Long Night of Apnea

Last Saturday it was time for the 12th version of the Long Night of Apnea which takes place every year in Berlin, Germany. There were 17 freedivers from 7 countries, 3 women and 14 men, which made for enough people to have a fun competition.
Winner with the women was Christina Kummel from Denmark with 158.8 points. She did a 5:07 static, 100 meter dynamic without fins and a total time of 19:04 minutes in the famous 16×50 dynamic event.
The winner with the men was Robert Cetler from Poland with 249,8 points which was made up from a 7:01 static, 180 meter dynamic and a 13:13 min 16×50. Strong performance.
Daan Verhoeven from the Netherlands set a new national record in the dynamic with fins discipline with his 169 meter dive. See the video below.

I received the press release below about the US National Freediving Championships that will take place in Hawaii from April 22-25. Looks like it’s going to be an interesting competition, so if you’re in the neighborhood, go for it! US National Freediving Championship set for April 22 through 25, 2010 at Freedive Paradise event. 
AIDA International has a new website and a new web address. It is not yet made public on the old website. Probably because it’s still work in progress. But it is already looking to good for not mentioning it here.
