Maybe some of you already knew about its existence, but I didn’t. I just read the excellent Monde Blue freediving web magazine. It has good content, it’s free, you can download it immediately. Only thing that will put some people off is that it’s in French. Some of the articles are in English, but that’s just a small part of it.
The second edition came just out and is 80 pages long! It really has all the latest freediving news in it. If they would make an English version of it, it would even be better.
Here is their homepage and the direct links to the first magazine from March and the second magazine from June 2009. You can also read the second magazine online, without downloading a PDF or anything here.

I thought it would be interesting to show some progress diagrams from the different disciplines. Last week I was cleaning up some old backups and I found an excel sheet with all the world records until 2007. I put the sheet online in Google Docs, so that I can share it with everybody.
The first diagram is from Constant without fins for the men, the next for the woman. I know there is still a lot of info missing in the diagram, but I was in a hurry, so I will sort it out the next time. Next time another discipline.
You can click below for the complete list of information:
If you have any information so that I can fill in more cells, let me know in the comments, please!
Update: I managed to create an interactive timeline. So now an overview of the men and women records in one overview. Click here to see it in a seperate window or look below for a smaller one. Enjoy.

Here is my collection of freediving blogs I’m following. I thought it would be nice for you to see where I get my news and info from. This is one of the sources.
If you click on the read more link at the bottom of the list you get a nice webpage with all the post done on these websites.
If you know of any other good ones you can leave it in the comments and I’ll put it on my watch list.

So what to write for post number 100? I thought I would look back in time and remember everybody about the FREE organization, Yasemin Dalkilic and Rudi Castineyra. It’s been quiet about these two for some time now. Last news was that they had some business with wine in some exotic place. Well it seems that that last news is true, because they started a new business; a wine bar in downtown Miami.
So if you want a nice wine for a good price served by Yasemin and some food to go with it made by Rudi, you can visit them at 145 S Miami Ave. Open for Monday trough Friday 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and for dinner 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. (Friday to 11:00 p.m.). It appears to be a well designed and good looking place with a good atmosphere, wine and food. More information on their website.
So it seems that they really left the professional freediving business and that from now on the only real international freediving association with regards to competition and education is AIDA. I’ll probably write an article about FREE, Yasmin and Rudi in the near future. I always enjoyed watching their extremely well made videos, maybe something to put back online…

This is an automated message from me. At the moment I’m probably to wasted and partying too hard to write here live. Good thing for automated messages! I wish everybody a very good and especially healthy new year and that you will set that first step in accomplishing your dreams.
I’ve got a few more days of vacation to go, so until then, have a good one!

So I’m out for the holidays. No special updates or anything else to happen. No competition or record attempts scheduled, so finally some vacation! Whoo hoo! Maybe time for some water again? If the weather permits it and shows some sunlight then maybe I’ll try out the freezing Dutch water. We will see.
Anyway, have a good Christmas and a good party with new years eve and hope to see you back next year!

Here we are.. At the moment just a weblog with news and opinions about the latest freediving developments, events, training techniques, freedivers, etc. Keep in mind: JUST personal opinions about freediving! No official stuff or anything. So if you read something you don’t like, that’s too bad, because.. well something about freedom of speech if I remember correctly
For starters I will be writing here and maybe some more staff from Shark.nu who are interested in freediving. We will see.
What can you expect to find here? Well that’s simple; whatever I find interesting to write about… Anyway, only freediving related stuff, but I guess you already knew this by now. So we will see. The first cool thing for you guys to use is ready. More about this in the next post. Anyway, keep it fun and give some comments and see you in the deep!
